About Our Research Compounds

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. They occur naturally throughout biological systems and are widely studied in laboratory and scientific research.

Different peptide sequences have different properties, which is why they are investigated across a wide range of research fields.

What are your compounds intended for?

Our research compounds are supplied strictly for laboratory, analytical and research purposes only.

Unless a product is specifically sold and labelled as a cosmetic product, our research compounds are not medicines and are not intended for human or veterinary consumption, diagnosis, treatment or therapeutic use.

Are products supplied lyophilised?

Many of our research peptides are supplied in lyophilised (freeze-dried) form unless otherwise stated on the individual product page.

Other products, including serums, accessories or specially prepared formats, may be supplied differently. Please check the individual product description before ordering.

How is product purity verified?

Purity varies by product and batch. Where purity has been measured, the applicable result can be found on the relevant Certificate of Analysis.

We recommend reviewing the individual testing documentation rather than relying on a general purity claim across the entire product range.

Verification & Quality

What does independent batch testing mean?

Independent testing means that product samples are submitted to a third-party laboratory that is separate from Amino Bound and the original manufacturer.

This provides additional verification of the identity, purity and/or quantity of the compound, depending on the analysis performed.

Where independent testing has been completed, the relevant documentation is made available alongside the product or within our testing information.

What testing is performed?

Testing varies depending on the compound and laboratory.

Testing may include HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) to assess purity and Mass Spectrometry (MS) to help confirm molecular identity.

The Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each tested product should be reviewed to see exactly which analyses were performed.

Do you provide Certificates of Analysis?

Yes. Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are provided where available and can be viewed directly on the relevant product page.

Each certificate identifies the product or batch to which the testing relates, allowing you to review the available results before ordering.

If a COA is not displayed for a particular product, further information will be provided where applicable. If you have any questions about the testing or documentation for a specific product, please contact us.

How is batch traceability maintained?

Products are recorded using identifying batch or lot information where supplied. This allows available testing documentation and product records to be associated with the relevant stock.

Each batch carries a unique reference which is shown on the product listing and recorded against your order, so the documentation you hold can always be matched back to the vial you received.

Are certificates reused across different batches?

A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis should only represent the batch identified on that certificate.

We do not present a certificate from one batch as evidence of testing for a different batch.

Where manufacturer documentation rather than independent batch-specific testing is provided, this will be identified appropriately.

Certificates & Documentation

What information is included in a Certificate of Analysis?

The information provided depends on the laboratory and type of analysis performed, but a Certificate of Analysis may include:

- Compound or sample identification

- Batch or sample reference

- Test date

- Purity results

- HPLC analysis

- Mass Spectrometry data

- Quantity or content analysis, where performed

- Laboratory information or report reference

Always refer to the individual certificate to see precisely what was tested.

Can documentation be reviewed before ordering?

Yes. Available testing documentation and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) will be displayed on the relevant product page, allowing customers to review them before placing an order.

Occasionally, documentation may not yet be displayed while we are awaiting the completed report from the independent laboratory. Where this is the case, the product page will indicate that the certificate is pending.

If you would like further information about the testing status or documentation for a particular product, please contact us before ordering.

Storage & Handling

How should compounds be stored?

Storage requirements may vary depending on the individual compound and product format. Always refer to the storage information provided on the relevant product page.

Lyophilised (freeze-dried) research compounds should generally be stored sealed at approximately -20°C for long-term storage, protected from light, moisture and temperature fluctuations.

Once reconstituted, compounds should generally be kept refrigerated at 2–8°C and protected from light. Stability after reconstitution can vary between compounds, so any product-specific storage information should also be followed.

Avoid unnecessary temperature fluctuations and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Research Use Only — Not for Human or Veterinary Consumption.

Can you advise on reconstitution, dosage or use?

Amino Bound supplies research compounds for research purposes only and does not provide medical advice, prescribe dosages or provide instructions for human or veterinary administration.

Any technical information provided on our website is intended for general research and informational purposes and should not be interpreted as medical or treatment advice.

How quickly are orders dispatched?

We aim to prepare and dispatch orders as quickly as possible. Estimated processing and delivery times are shown within our delivery information.

Orders placed during weekends, public holidays or particularly busy periods may require additional processing time.

Once dispatched, delivery times are dependent on the postal or courier service used.
